[BC] Telos one + one problem

I've seen this same sort of "hang on problem" occur on my 1X6... one channel
wouldn't act right. Seemed to "latch into' one state or another... either
"on" or "off"... no matter what the display showed.... all the rest acted
ok.
I don't really know if it matters what the return audio is, though I
suppose you could also check there's no weirdness coming into that port by
using a jumpered cable stuffed in just to plug it into perfect silence... I
guess you'd want a cap across an otherwise open piece of line.
I would think a whole bunch of RF or static getting in there would make a
Telos a bit nutty
and don't know where your unit is sitting.
Our unit will handle the null stuff for us, I never have tried it with no
return... seems like it ought to work but, the durned thing wants to have
it's null twiddled...
Further for the heck of it... in our case, it was a matter of stuffing a new
chip in as the old one had been zorched by a lightning hit. I can't
remember the exact details, but another idea might be to start by looking at
all the stuff involved in draining off RF and such from the unit... thinking
that a bit of static hanging around might be confusing the chip a bit.
Squeak all the chips down. Co you have torroids over the incoming phone
line (s) ? If this were my old unit, and I knew all the basics were done
right... I 'd have an odds-on bet one of the two chips for that particular
channel was shot. But then I run it with return audio, too...
