When John Abdnour and I visited the site in the late '70's the "Cathanode"  
Modulated Crosley 50 kW.  wasn't operational.  The Continental was the  main 
and the Western Electric was the backup.  I wonder what that 50 kW.  transmitter 
cost to build?  What year was it built? I remember reading  about it in an 
old IRE Broadcast Proceeding many years ago.
