As father of a SWA pilot (NOT one involved in the very unfortunate
accident) these kind of remarks in my way of thinking are not exactly
appropriate. (I'm sure it was done in a moment of little thought of
the reception by others.)

We heard the news reports like 20 minutes after the
accident and there were several minutes wondering if he could
have been on that flight. A quick cell phone call and we found,
to our relief, that he was at home.

I had occasion to call the corporate offices the next day and you
can be assured it was gloom and doom throughout the system.
This was the first fatality EVER for SWA. However, they still had
an airline to run and did so.

SWA is a very customer and employee caring company. I have
confidence that they have and will "do the right thing" for the
hurting Wood family.........and the pilots also.

Since the pilot is 59 years old and the investigation will likely
extend past his 60th birthday, it is unlikely he'll ever fly commercially
again. What a louzy way to end an aviation career.

Keep TUNED to the transportation board investigation for further
information as it becomes available.

(See how I worked that into the broadcast list.)
