And so it should ! It is spam, in this case, by any definition.
Vacation has existed on *nix systems for decades, and works.
It will send one and only one notification to any originating address, and
self-filter any loop it may cause.
Micro$oft has chosen once again, to re-invent the wheel,
and done a poor job ( IMHO ) of it.
Since M$ implements this in the mail client, bypassing any level where it
can be managed inteligently, there is little alternative, save for someone
to go hit the Big Switch at that particular machine.
