that doesn't change that for the sake of this argument such a set *is* still
an HD display. If you have cable then no tuner is required, just (a usually
free) upgrade to an HD cable box, if you want OTA then you need an external
tuner. And even if you want an ATSC tuner, I don't see what the big deal is
about spending under $200 for a tuner; if you just plunked down probably
over a grand at least for the HD set itself you shouldn't be crying poverty
over a measly $200 tuner.
