At one time Fox was going to be very heavy multichannel video and their  
plans were for 16:9 480i.    They built a satellite system for  the multi-channels 
and had to rebuild it for the later chosen 720p  HDTV  format.  I haven't 
noticed many artifacts on their 720p sports  broadcasts.
