That is, of course, a stereotype.  But, it is often true because some station management believes that older females are the only audience for Christian radio and they program accordinglly.  Thus, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.  The contemporary music outfits, whether stand-alone or nets like Air-1 and K-Love, show a much lower demo.  We have a Saturday program with pop, rock and hip-hop and the "little old ladies in tennis shoes" don't listen.  

Oh -- that's a stereotype, too.  The little old ladies around here are more likely to be wearing pearls and a mink stole and driving a Mercedes.  But they still don't care for hip-hop.
