I don't see it as a subsidy to the NFL at all.

Granted the NFL organized the coordination effort, but in the end its
the various broadcasters who show up to cover these games that benefit
from the coordination, not purely the NFL.  I see it as a win/win for
all involved myself.  Granted you have your business agenda, but at
some point you must step back and look what is better for the
community as a whole and not just your bank account.  As it stands now
a working system is in place...why should that change just to benefit
your bottom line?
