Liked the intoxicated birds.

As to hornets, wasps, etc.  Mix 50-50 1,1,1 Triclorethane  (dry clening
fluid of older days) and kerosene or light motor oil or ATF.  Instant
knockdown on contact. Squirt it liberally into the hole on a large nest and
nothing much will make it out or fly again.  If you have an adjustable
sprayer, the wide fine mister is effective at keeping them away from
you...the mist even knocks them out if the droplets are of any size in it at
all.

1,1,1 Trichlorethane destroys the insect's nervous system on contact, and
penetrates their waxy coating almost instantly, while the oil helps
penetration and weights them down so they drop fast.
