[BC] Tornado hits ERI's old area

They are all over the Chicago area.  Spaced every few miles apart.  But 
unless you are within a few blocks, you can't hear them if you are indoors 
or have the windows rolled up and the radio playing.

As a side story, in 1959 when the White Sox won the pennant, the city blew 
the sirens to celebrate.  Everyone who wasn't aware of the game's ending 
thought the area was being bombed....and reacted accordingly.  The question 
was invariably asked of the Mayor (who is a life long south (pronounced 
"sah-th") sider about whether the city would do the same this time.  He 
smiled, then politely said no.
