>Of course. But just as the radio industry
resisted buying EAS boxes, consumers
have been VERY slow to buy the
existing receivers.
But the weather radios are cheep. I have seen them as low as $15 at flea
markets. I got my super-dyna-whopping model at Radio Shack for $35 where I
can program my county in and it only responds to that one. What's more
important, lottery tickets, cigarettes and a six pack, or a radio that could
possibly save your life? It all comes down to choices. If I found myself
in the unfortunate position of living in a mobile home, I'd have a NOAA
radio in EVERY room!
>On the other hand, there are plenty of
cell phones on hand!
That's a great idea. Or, you could use both NOAA radios augmented by cell
phones augmented by broadcast stations.
