This is how our AudioVault works. I consider this to be more of an asset than
a liability, simply because it does make it impossible to fire multiple
sources at once. Ours runs *everything* through one single pot. The satellite audio
feeds through the sound card, thus, any time a local audio cut fires, the
satellite is instantly muted for the duration. It's an either-or situation in
every case. The next audio cut can not play until the previous one finishes. You
can't do segue's that way, but we don't use our AudioVault for music, anyway.
Just spots, liners, jingles, and long-form programs. We only have one "live"
daily program and a few 2 minute newscasts. The rest are all "tape-delayed"
from the Bird during the overnight hours. It's a very robust system and I am very
pleased with it.
