If anyone is interested WWJ is the oldest commercial station, even older than KDKA.

  All good points... Same reasoning why I think 540 in Orlando is the most
  powerfull is its low dial position.  50KW on 540 goes a lot further than
  50KW on 1500, regardless of ERP.  If I recall correctly, its the only
  station in the US on 540 with 50KW at nite.
  The new sites south of Detroit on 950, 1270, 910, and the old 1500 site are
  all very strong.  My family has a home on Lake Huron Just south of the
  Mackinac bridge and WWJ comes in like a local 24 hrs per day
