I wonder if the FTC has ever done a study of rebate practices...

Maybe some newly minted FTC lawyer trying to get noticed would
want to take on a study like that.  I  got burned on a Canon
printer rebate about 5 years ago...got tired of trying to
run it down and blew it off after a year.  Never will buy a
Canon product again either....
