I've only had one dealing with apple support, for my ipod. I still have the
generation 1 ten gig ipod from when they first came out. About a two years
ago the drive in it started failing (sad apple logo on boot). Called them
up, said surprisingly it was still within the coverage period (must have
been by a matter of days) told me i could bring it into NYC to the apple
store or mail it in. I said I didnt feel like making a trip into the city,
so they agreed to overnight me (at their expense) a shipping box for it, and
a pre-paid airbill to send it back. The following morning the empty box
arrived, i placed the ipod in it and handed it back to the DHL guy- this was
Tuesday morning. Friday morning at 10am my repaired ipod was sitting on my
doorstep. I couldn't have been happier with their service.
