Hi all. Burt W and I were having a short discussion on the radios in our
cars, and I noticed a comment in the book in mine when I bought it that I
think is interesting. It says: "special design considerations have been
incorporated into this vehicle's electronic system to provide immunity to
radio frequency signals". And it goes on to say that mobile radio should be
installed by ..... and so on.
I think this feature has a lot to do with the car's AM/FM performance. I
don't hear any engine noise, no noise when the AM signal is down in the mud
and the headlights are on, or when the engine calls for more fuel like my
wife's car (98 Grand Cherokee) does. FM is sensitive and has good
selectivity also. I like this car if for no other reason than the radio
works as it should. This feature certainly will be in the next car I buy.
Also, the 2-M rig in it doesn't cause the speedometer (and therefore the
cruise) to jump around when I key-down like it did in the '92 S-10. Anyone
else notice, or know about car wiring systems that are "2-way radio
friendly"?
