I use Vonage. Had it for about 1.5 years, and just ported my Verizon number
over about 5 months ago. I have two DirecTivos; one several years old and
one brand new. I bought it to replace an original Sony Version 1 Tivo that
would not work with Vonage, no matter what I did.

Check out http://www.vonage-forum.com/forums.html and go to their
Fax-Tivo-Alarms section. I found this there, and my DirecTivos work fine:

ignore the dail in number
Dial Prefix: 12122773895
Call waiting Prefix: *99,,#019,,
phone available: off/on - doesn't really matter
Dial tone detect: off/on - "

I also have 2 regular DirecTv boxes and one HD box, and they all call fine,
too.
