I believe that's what pod-safe music is all about. You also might want to
hit the Creative Commons site to see what Lawrence Lessig wants to do to gut
the Copyright Act.
I would submit that you should be careful what you wish for, all of you. Not
playing the hits means not being tastemakers. Not being tastemakers means
not having an audience. Not having an audience means going out of business.
You want more attrition in the engineering space? Keep asking how you can
get around the lawful payment of rights for the very backbone of your
station's products.
Larry, I'm surprised at your logic. All of the products you represent are
the result of years of research, experimentation, perfection and production
of the physical output of intellectual property. Why would you be so
cavalier about ASCAP and BMI doing for their musicians essentially what you
do for your manufacturers?
