I'm not even going to try to claim my house as being anything like
typical - looking around the room from the desk in my home office, I
can see seven radios, and that's not counting all the ones in drawers
and closets and buried under piles of papers on the desk.

My parents, however, are more typical consumers (albeit, being in
their sixties, of no value to your average advertiser.)

And in their place I count:

-Boombox in downstairs rec room
-Boombox in dad's downstairs office
-Cheapie Sony portable in kitchen
-Clock radio in bedroom
-Shower radio in one upstairs bathroom
-Cheap portable in another upstairs bathroom
-Three car radios
-Two walkman-style portables for jogging/walking/etc.

That agrees pretty well with the average of 10 working radios per
household. The interesting test will come later, when I ask my 30
year old sister what she's got in her house. My perception is that
she's just on the other side of the generational divide when it comes
to heavy radio use...
