Kirk mentioned that the Internet time sync can be modified on Win XP
machines
through the system registry. If you're comfortable with making system
registry changes, the following link offers information on how to change the
polling time to any value in 1 second increments. I've done it on all
network PCs here and it works well.

You don't need to convert the polling time to a Hex value once the edit
window opens. It will allow for decimal values as well. Mine are set for
120 minutes (decimal 7200, hex 1C20).
I've tied some time-sync freeware in the past and discovered that it was
loaded
with spyware. "Atomic Clock" from CNET was one such program and even if you
clean the spyware, it keeps "calling back home" to load it up again. Evil
stuff.
