It's an outer marker (dual yagi) with the associated outer marker locator
(LOM), tall tower. If the low freq facility wasn't associated with the outer
marker, then it's an NDB. Same gadget, just some differences in
identification depending on whether it's co-located with an OM or not.
There is quite a hobby built around hearing and identifying these low freq
beacons.
I'm listening to two on 344 khz right now, and am trying to capture the two
different IDs. One is quite strong compared to the other. The trouble is the
ident cycles are overlapping and I can only hear parts of the weaker one's
ID every once in a while. Sun's coming up and it'll all disappear shortly
most likely.
