My first commercial radio job was KSLY (1400 kHz, 250W) in 1970. I did the
engineering and over night announcer (playing top 40 off 45s and LPs)
with jingles and commercials on carts. While there, we moved the AM site,
put a Bauer 707 (kit) on the air, put a new FM (KUNA, 96.1 MHz with
Broadcast Products AR-2000 automation) on the air, and moved the studio.

One of the guys I worked with back then now owns the station (KKJL). The
news guy that was there when I was there (Fred Peterson) died within the
past year.

Regarding Al Towne, I think I worked with him on KUHL in Santa Maria. He
also did the original design for KFYV Arroyo Grande. His name kept popping
up.

Long time ago!

Harold
