Two of my favorites, Fred Allen and Ernie Kovacs, were both , sadly, nipped
in the bud.  Topper was a fave sitcom, and years later it ran in syndication
endlessly..

I wasn't much for Howdy Doody, and Kukla, Fran and Ollie were cute, but a
little below my grade level -- TV didn't come to Denver until 1952, if you
recall.  Now, Ernie Kovacs, Sid Caesar, etc. -- that was special.  And
Omnibus with Alistair Cooke.
