How much is actually done at the console , and how much is done at the 
router (as far as
mixing  /blending, etc.)

   I had always thought that routing/witching would be bi-directional 
network traffic, but I'm
not sure that's really necessary anymore... as in a (horridly simply) NIC 
card at the
air console, and one at the switcher... NOW, I suppose, the talent *could* 
be simply sampling
what's going on at the switcher... Is that what you're saying? That the 
talent is only controlling
the swticher, rather than the product so the console  has no D/A, no amps, 
nothing inside the
console anymore... except networking components, and a way to convert the 
sliders to someting
meaningful to thw router/switcher... ??)
do they hear the output from the switcher on their Headphone monitor, or the 
output
from the console...?

   Hmmm - it would be like living inside your own PC, in a way, (or maybe 
like
the old timey mainframes.... )
