Axia audio networks can eliminate soundcards.  Any PC can speak to any
audio port on the network using a "soundcard emulator" driver.  For
simpler applications where routing (networking) is not needed, you can use
a single audio node and a crossover cable to your PC NIC and have a
pro-grade audio card replacement that you can rack mount.  Details:
