I haven't had time to read the several TV magazines that I receive,   but
are 
they doing part of the HD in 720 and up converting to 1080i  or is  NBC 
sending 720P some of the time??
 
I have to agree on the weekend and Monday I was amazed at the number of  
video and audio problems.  Audio sounded bad on the mikes like it was being

digitized and cell phonish type audio.

I doubt NBC would touch 720P with a 10 foot Norwegian!  I don't know what
format they actually shoot the venues with. I suspect it is in 1080i/50 and
converted to 1080i/60 for North American consumption.  I am sure they are
converting it to all sorts of formats for distribution to various locations
around the world.
