[BC] RE: Part 15 Comunity Radio over 802.11a/b/g, anyone ever

A year or so ago I surfed the Web for hints about working WiFi over 
considerable distance. A USB WiFi transceiver at the focus of a dish 
or feeding a "coffee-can" antenna was a common approach.  Putting the 
transceiver at the antenna solved the feed-line problem.

I just did a short Google search and found this cheap USB 802.11 
device that has at least a little antenna gain:

With the proliferation of 802.11b/g devices, I'd consider 802.11a. 
Probably lots less chance of QRM, but no USB adapters AFAIK..

I slightly know a fellow who runs a WiFi ISP serving a small town in 
west Texas (far from Shamrock).
