>>I haven't been around a tv newsroom in a long time, but those three come
to mind I could think of dozens more but my cell phone is ringing.

I have three more for you.

The junior reporterette who adjusts the "color", "bright", and "tint" on the
monitor in the edit bay to make the tape shot out in the field look
better....not realizing that it has no effect on what it's gonna look like
on the air.

Veteran male anchor that reads the copy on the teleprompter as it's
written....ALL the copy on the teleprompter as it's written including the
toss to break cues, roll tape cues and ad lib cues for weather/sports.

Another junior reporterette who grabs an Ikegami 730A camera and Sony 8800
tape deck (yes, it was 3/4" tape back then) to go shoot voice over footage
for a story she's putting together, but fails to move the filter off of the
"blind" or capped position. She calls the news room freaking out because
the camera isn't working and "neeeeds" this footage for her story. So an
engineer (me) must drop what he's doing to drive 20 miles to "fix" the
camera.

I miss TV news like I'd miss a hole in the head.
