Fascinating message on http://www.dcrtv.org/mailbag.html from Gordon 
Williamson, the first announcer hired by DuMont's WTTG ch 5 Washington 
in 1946.  Among other things he says that Dr Thos Goldsmith, DuMont's 
chief engineer back in '46, is alive and active in Washington State! 
WTTG's call comes from Goldsmith's initials - and has remainded on the 
station continuously for the past 60 years.  That, in itself, must be 
a record or nearly one.
