[BC] Cell phones getting better?

Wanye,
I agree with that. I had run into a problem with Sprint doing this to
me about 5 or 6 years ago. I made them an offer to co-locate on my
tower, being I have a 150' (New Pirod) Self Supporting tower, using a 3
wire unipole for my AM antenna. My tower lease price was dirt cheap!
But, they wanted to argue with me and be on a monopole, and disturbing
my non-directional pattern, which is against FCC regulations.
I am for co-locating on AM towers, that are Unipole Feed like mine.

I agree completely. The use of cell phones by the same people that tend
to
be offended by the tower structure is a definite contradiction of terms,
but
I disagree with the tactics used by some cell companies to "get their
way!"
I am sure you will agree with that. My reply was considerably "tongue
in
cheek."

Wayne,
My comments were not directed at you. I don't know your community and
I'm sure since you understand the tech side of this, I'm sure you're
trying your best, but we have some real people in other communities,
with no knowledge of this, that just see antennas, and calls them
eyesores, but when their cell phones cut out, they grip!
As you and I know, Cell Phones are now apart of the American Lifestyle
and we must now have them. There has to be some meeting in the ways of
all of this to make everyone happy.
I do agree there has been some abuse of the cell companies, jumping in
and just doing what they want, and it causing problems for everyone. My
apologies extend to you and I didn't mean to hurt your feelings in
anyway!

Mr. Scott, I take offense! I am a Planning Commissioner! and we have
been
overwhelmed by the abusive tactics of an army of out of state Attorneys,
and
so called "RF Engineers, with no proof of discipline, providing our
commission with very colorful maps and descriptions of coverage that
were an
insult to our intelligence. I find the companies such as "Cricket," who
refuse to utilize existing tower space are shooting their cause in the
foot
so to speak.

If the stupid zoning people would quit whining about the "funning
looking antennas" on cell towers and monopoles, we would find our cell
phone (including theirs) would work much better.....do you hear me Mr.
Zobota, Mr Codes Man!.....
