[BC] Sign-off tunes

Its been as simple as a legal ID in some stations I've
worked at..

I recall listening in Albuquerque, NM around 1980 to KAMX,
then a 1kw daytimer on 1520 with a top 40 format. When they'd
sign off, KOMA/1520 Oklahoma City would boom in - with the
same format.

In fact, often KOMA would boom in before they even signed off;
I remember hearing a jock on KAMX billboarding some upcoming
music and remarking "if you can hear me over KOMA"...

KAMX's CE told me once that their request line rang throughout
the night while they were off the air as KOMA continued the
format on their frequency during the night hours.

Someone got smart in recent years - moving 1520 in Albuquerque
to 1550...

Question? Why did Jason change the format on WQMA from Top 40 to Oldies.
I thought that girl that you guys has on mid-days was getting attention
with the CHR format.

Ar WQMA I had a simple sign off...

it was a 4 1/2 minute long Mp3 file.....

A station liner voiced by previous owner charlie kendall, followed by a
90
second full information sign off, containing our license and contact
information, followed mby Whitney Houston singing The National Anthem at
a baseball
game...

I used bed music under my voice during the sign off. What was it you
use? 2
minutes worth of The Price Is Right theme song.
