A friend worked as an EE for a large corporation (let's call it Oldcorp).
It was acquired by another large corporation (Newcorp) that was,
essentially, in the same business. Newcorp immediately closed the company
store, where one could buy jackets, sweatshirts, hats, coffee cups, beer
steins, etc., with the Oldcorp logo. Newcorp refused to allow anyone to
obtain any of this at *any* price. It was all destroyed. My friend told me
that anything with the Oldcorp logo was destroyed. They replaced thousands
of perfectly good ringbinders in the technical archives because they sported
the Oldcorp logo. Newcorp did purchase the rights to the Oldcorp logo, so
that wasn't an issue. Seems like there are better ways to spend time and
money at the stockholder's expense. But that's just little ol' me.

Boy have I been there several times.
