  Don't you mean the DX-40?  As I recall the DX-35 was CW-only.   I used
a
DX-40 as a kid and later converted it into a linear amplifier for use
with a
little 5-wt "Argonaut" SSB transceiver.   That DX-40 is still in the
attic.
I never could part with it.
