I have a modified Yaesu FT-101E that, on AM, transmits a response curve that
is
flat from <10 Hertz to over 20Khz (+/- less than a DB).  On SSB, I get out
whatever I can shove through the steep IF filter, of course.  No fake bass
there. And no fake sub-harmonics.

I get glowing reports
from the final tubes. (Just kidding)

People do say that the AM is very nice.  And the SSB is nice, too. Even
through the 2 meter transverter.
As far as so-called "super Modulation", or CB modulation, any envelope
different than the modulating waveform is nothing other than DISTORTION.
