A recent post suggested that an AM station changing channels from 1530 to 1590
would be considered a minor change. If I'm not mistaken a minor change for AM
as far as frequency is concerned is limited to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd adjacent channels
either side of the current licensed frequency. Therefore a station at 1530 could move
to 1500, 1510, 1520, 1540, 1550, or 1560 without it being subjected to auction proceedings
as a major change. A move to 1590 would not meet minor change requirements.
Harold, do you have the exact rule on this?
