How well I remember...
At least these band openings give the Z100 morning show something new to
talk about on August mornings. I should have airchecked the episode I heard
a few years ago, when they were taking calls from listeners on Long Island
complaining about WPLY's music. Our morning show crew (at PLY) was also
getting complaints (about Z100's music) and had called me at 6 AM wondering
if we were still on the air, but there was no way to be sure by listening to
the radio.
Other local co-channels subject to this problem are WCBS-FM and WBEB on
101.1 (WBEB usually ranks 1st or 2nd in persons 12+ in the Philly book
despite this problem) and WBAI vs. WJBR-FM on 99.5. Too bad HD Radio offers
no solution other than mutually assured destruction.
