http://www.iowabroadcasting.com/store.html links to a description of a similar
book about broadcasting in the Hawkeye State. It's very well done--I bought a
copy about a year ago.
It's amazing what you can find without even looking for it... a year or so ago,
my wife and I were browsing at one of the local antique malls, and I found a
transcription disk, complete with RCA label. The disk contained jingles from
KXEL, Waterloo IA. They sound like PAMS Series 2, so the disk dates from the
late 60's. It was badly scuffed, and even a serious effort couldn't remove
all of the clicks and scratches, but who knows where (or even if) those jingles
exist anywhere else?
