Willie,
   Yes, Armstrong does use a switching power supply, and I found it more
efficient than the Harris. The difference between the LPB and the
Armstrong is that you will be much louder with the Armstrong, due to
it's larger, PDM amp, than the LPB. I've tried both, and came out with
that conclusion.
   Currently, Armstrong only builds a 500 watt and 1 KW AM box.

Night power for me is 3 watts, and it does more than one would think.

It's a great plug and play box, the only pitfall is now output network
to tune into "not normal" loads. Like the BE or LPB, it hates anything
outside 50 ohms.
