"3 whopping watts" may be heard further than you think. <g>
You'd be surprised at the number of nite DA's that have
sectors with very low powers on a "wattage" basis. There
are some where it is possible to *see* the towers and be
unable to pick them up on a car radio and that is FAR
below 3 watts. In fact if they were allowed to fill the
nulls out to the equivalent of 3 watts they'd be thrilled.
