Would you believe there's a station not far from here that was still running
a TE-1 as their one-and-only exciter (in an FM-3H) until several weeks ago?
The owner lost a capacitor in the PA of the 3H a few months ago, so he
decided it was time for a new transmitter, so the station installed a new
Harris 5 kW box and kept the old rig for backup. He told me the old TE-1
had been very reliable. Sometimes you do get lucky!
