[BC] Equipment For Switching Power and Patterns

What equipment are some of you using to switch power and patterns?

We are having problems with the CRL unit.

Has anyone had experience with a unit made by Broadcast Tools?    Is their 
unit a stand alone or does it have to be used with a computer?

The one advantage of the CRL unit is that it is a stand alone unit but we 
have had two of them totally go out, one brand new.

Appreciate any thoughts, your experience, and suggestions.
