>Speaking of Little Rock, what ever happen to the station on 1010, KLRA?
>Why did it go dark?
It's convoluted night pattern was protecting the entire U.S. Canadian
border, and numerous Class Bs in the U.S. and Mexico, so that its 5 kW
night signal was being squeezed out towards NYC.
Westinghouse bought it and took it dark, so that WINS' NIF would be
improved.
NYC is about 1100 miles distant from Little Rock, but a Canadian Class A
on 1010 is a lot closer, about 350 miles.
The ca. 1990s AM database has KLRA and Jackson, MS's flamethrower on 1550
(then the highest power station on that frequency, and it wasn't even a
Class A).
