[BC] Why I Love Ad Agencies

I know those shops, too........
And don't forget the cocaine. An agency I'm acquainted with more that I
would like to admit (passed from grandfather to father and then finally
to son) boasted of their "client parties". While other agencies offered
clients trips, concert tickets, perks and an occasional "cash refund" to
the person handling a company's advertising buys, these guys took
kickbacks to a new level. Their quarterly parties were legend. But, when
the owner's of a company (not based here) got wind that his marketing
person was enjoying illicit drugs and more in exchange for using the
agency, things got dicey. Said company (publicly traded) threatend to go
public, and after much negotiation, the agency wrote a check, and closed
it's doors. "Son" now works for a golf course in Florida. Granddad is
dead, and daddy works in a hardware store. The building downtown that
bears the founder's name is about to be leveled for a new parking lot.
