It might be a bit awkward... but... lacking any other choices-
IFF you have a way to input other audio sources to your existing car
radio... (such as celphone stuff, dvd, whatever...)
THEN... One of the few things you can still find at Radio Shack is a
Decent and small footprint multi-band receiver.
Quick and cheap way until you find the rig you want.
The unit I use for SW, etc. is a digital tune unit, with a switch for the
9/10 plans... the output is stereo 1/8 so you'll have to put together a
patch cord. Strap it under the dash like a ham rig.
It doesn't have to be too ugly, as the reciever has enough selectivity to
pull in AM/FM with little or no antenna at all.
Std. SW Of course is totally different. It would look a lot like an XM unit
hanging around in your vehicle.
Otherwise... you'll have to spend a good bit more, I guess.
