Looks like some sort of studio was there at one time, as big as the
building looks. How come they didn't go back with a new self supporting
tower there?
I wonder if Paul looked into the windows to see of the old transmitter
was still there?

Paul
That was 1230 WGGG Gainesville... They moved to a new site several years
ago, before the 1000 watts unlimited I think... The new site turned out
to
be a dud, poor conductivity etc etc... Regarding the old site, that
tower
was much taller at one point in time... A tornado or something caused
the
top sections to come off... The old tower had proper lights and was
painted
correctly... Now it's much shorter, less that 200 feet and you could
probably paint it pink! It's probably orange and blue for UF! BTW...The
old
tower was a slant wire shunt feed, sounded good and got out very well,
BUT
not quite well enough to get it's 250 watts 7 or 8 miles to the UF
campus
with a killer signal ..
