[BC] Digital vs new

And that's another of my pet peeves. There is no 'training' ground for
new talent anymore. Many of us started by hanging around and pestering
someone for a part time job. Then we would work our way up from, say,
Hattiesburg to Memphis to St. Louis to Chicago, then maybe NY. But now
many small market stations offer no entry level jobs. Talent, if you
want to call it that, comes in the form of card-readers or foul-mouthed,
mean-spirited "stars" who could care less about their craft. They answer
to managers who are better at counting beans and kissing corporate @$$
than serving their communitites. Radio was alot more fun when Imus was
drinking........
