The 1R's and BC1G among others can sound absolutely wonderful and they 
can also sound like utter garbage when not maintained right. Too bad the 
skills to maintain them are dying, egged on by corporate suit&tie types 
who threw people like me in the dumpster too. One "manager" looked at me 
like I was a space alien when I said he should keep the perfectly 
functional BC1G as a standby when the new SS transmitter arrived. I 
could say more but it would be difficult to remain civil while doing so.

I suppose some here would agree with him.
