This discussion of older equipment, someof which is now immensely valuable,
got me to a-thinkin'..... who here has been lucky enough to prevent a treasure
from taking that eternal trip to the great landfill in the sky? I know of at
least one engineer friend who has salvaged LA-4s and a couple of Neumanns.
Another took possession of a Gates limiter that years later fetched him a
grand on eBay. I myself once dusted of a 44DX and donated it to an NCE who had
it rebuilt and uses it for live recording these days (sounds great with
horns!). Anyone else care to share? If we've already done a similar thread and
I just missed it, ignore me and please go back to what you were doing ;)
