Sweet sounding after the added the test switch for balancing the 5749  tubes. 
  The early version had a specification new to the  business;  "Signal to 
thump ratio".
 
One on the longest running limiters was the RCA  BA-6  Limiter I  think it 
was in their product line until the BA45/BA46 solid state line came  along.   Of 
course the Gates Sta-Levele went thru abouit three  generations.
