No, the situation is this:
Voange put aside and offered a percentage of its IPO stock to it's subscribers
at the issue proce of 17 dollars a share.
By 5 PM it had dropped to 12.05 a share. Now many don't want to pay for the
stock. At first Vonage said they wouldn't go after these subscribers, but now
they've changed their tune.
Do they have the right to do so? Partly. Seems that Vonage didn't let many
people know that THEIR stock would be restricted with regards to selling it
within the first 24 hours after the IPO. In other words, many Vonage
subscribers were forced to sit there and watch their stock drop and drop,
unable to sell, while others could get out - and minimize their losses.
Also, many who tried to buy were told that there was no more stock left, when
the truth was that they had been allowed to BUY the stock they wanted. As a
result, many people actually OWNED stock they didn't KNOW they owned, and it
took a dive before they even knew they had been allowed to buy it.
These people should have the right to walk....at least I believe they should!
